BBC iPlayer App is an instant hit

According to Daniel Danker, the broadcaster’s general manager of programmes and on demand,The BBC iPlayer iOS app has been downloaded 1.1m times in the week since it was updated to run on Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch as well as iPad. Guardian online reports that the app has proved a big hit and a new sector of users are now able to access iPlayer. This changes the game again for schools who want to access the superb content that good old auntie Beeb continues to produce. There is of course the issue of age restriction settings on devices that schools must address, but “on demand” TV moves one step onwards.
